Spring is here! Summer is just around the corner! One of my favorite things to do is entertain outside when the weather is beautiful.

One way to really enhance the outdoor experience is by adding light. I found these beautiful Malta Lanterns at Pottery Barn! I love the way they look! So rustic and inviting! These will provide a beautiful subtle light to your next gathering.

Today I am sharing one of my favorite decorating tips!

Do you have wall space you would love to fill with a beautiful piece of fine art? The only problem is your pocketbook can’t afford fine art! Do you have a large wall space that you just don’t know how to fill? I have a great solution for you!

Go to a hobby store or art supply such as Michael’s or a framing store and purchase canvas. Depending on what design you are planning you can determine how many and what size you need.

Go to the fabric store and pick out fabric that will compliment your room. If you are doing multiple pieces I recommend choosing two patterns such as a stripe and solid or stripe and floral that compliment each other to spice it up.

Cut fabric to give yourself approx 2 inches of extra fabric around the edges of the canvas.

Lay canvas face down on underside of the fabric. Use a staple gun to secure fabric to the canvas. Do sides first and finish corners last.  Do not pull fabric too tight as it will cause puckering in the front.

Turn over and now you have stunning lightweight wall art for your home. These are so light you can hang with just nails or picture hangers.
